90% Fine Superwash Merino + 10% Bison Down

A gauge of 9 to 6 stitches per inch on size 0 to 3 needles makes a very nice fabric, but your gauge can and will vary depending on your purposes.
Hand or machine wash cold. Lay flat to dry.
This yarn is tightly twisted and plied, which will dramatically increase the life of your knit garments compared to those knit with loosely plied, squishy yarns (which I also love dearly). The tighter the twist, the firmer a yarn feels, which is why tightly plied yarns are often passed over in favor of the softest, smooshiest yarns. Adding Bison Down to Superwash Merino Wool makes an otherwise “strong and silent” yarn a drapey, smooth, and luxurious knitting experience. Tracks (or Trax) of Bison was created by Buffalo Gold and dyed by Alisha Goes Around. The fiber is sourced from, spun into yarn, and the yarn dyed in the United States.
The base yarn is a medium tan (as opposed to the ivory of a typical undyed skein), so our normal colorways turn out a bit differently than on 100% Superwash Merino. Think dark, moody, shifting, saturated colorways when special ordering Tracks, or go a completely different way and see what a whisper of color will do over this yarn.
